Welcome to my site. My name is Jorge. The septic company sent a notice to my home recently about pumping out the tank. After living in my home for a few years, it was time to service the septic tank to keep it in good condition for years afterward. I watched in awe as the septic truck cleared the tank and restored the function of the system. I will use this site to discuss the process of servicing the septic tank. I will also talk about repairs commonly performed on the septic components. I hope you will visit often to learn more.

Getting a clogged drain can happen for almost any reason at all. You may have shaved and the hair was just enough to clog up the drain. It is also possible that something was washed or flushed down that you had not expected such as a plastic wrapper. Often a clogged drain is not a clog at all, but it can be a kinked or collapsed pipe.
If you are connected to a septic system, you need to be very careful with the way that you approach getting rid of a clogged drain. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you are working with a clogged piped.
Dangerous Cleaners
One of the first things that people reach for when they are battling with a clog is liquid drain cleaners. Often these cleaners are going to contain a very powerful base, pH above 7. The chemicals that make up the base can be completely devastating to the bacteria that live in your septic system. The septic system requires these bacteria to break down the sewage and continually function properly. If you use these drain cleaners too often, you could find yourself with a backed up septic system.
Pipe Snakes
Instead of using liquid drain cleaners, you should buy some pipe snakes. These are cables that allow you to tie onto one another and push them down into the drain. Often this is enough to dislodge whatever is clogging the drain, and things will go back to normal. Pipe snakes are easy to use and the task can be accomplished in little time. They are often very cheap as well. However, if you still find that your drain is clogged, it is time to get some help.
Plumber
A plumber is a trained professional and they will be able to troubleshoot what is happening with your clog. One of the first things that a plumber will do is a video inspection of your pipes. This will allow the plumber to see what is causing the clog. If the pipes are too dirty, they can hydro jet the pipes to clean them out. Once they are able to see, they will continue with the video inspection and be able to tell exactly what the problem is. If it is a kinked or collapsed pipe, they will get to work replacing it.
